I for one think that the sannins would destroy pain. Jiraiya put up a great fight back then, and since Oro with his hands might be better than Jiraiya I say they could take him on. And Tsunade isn't bad either.

Arguably the most popular characters of the series. If you think this is too one-sided take away Minato's kyuubi chakra

I would think Minato. He could use his Flying Thunder God technique and would be too quick for Itachi to get him in his genjutsu.

Ino vs. Tenten

It's a toughie, but I think Ino would win, just because of her prowess with mind control. She could probably just force Tenten to kill herself. Any objections?
