Title: The Use of Jutsus?
Post by: Cedie on July 31, 2014, 17:21:18
I've noticed that most characters who died in the anime were defeated not by powerful jutsus but by pure deception, emotion and physical attack using bunshin. what are these potent jutsus for?

Any thoughts?

I don't like how the fights in Naruto are structured now compared to early shippuden and the original series. Now they use a load of massive moves and use all of their chakra, before randomly finding the strength to outsmart their opponent and stab them with their unlimited amount of knives.

They are definitely killing blows. The problem is that, if a character gets directly hit by a ninjutsu, they most probably get defeated and therefore the show would be uninteresting. And, I don't fully agree with this since Pain (the Deva Path), Kakuzu, Itachi, Obito (against Minato) and others were defeated with ninjutsu. (most of them hit by Rasengan, I know it's annoying)

My guess is that after so long, it took more than just a simple kunai in the face and bam you're done. People were too good for that stuff.  (Byakugan, Sharingan, Rinnegan) So they started developing  more useful techniques to get the job done. Not only single target attacks, (Rasengan, Chidori) but AoE attacks as well, (Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu.)

I don't understand how some people die completely from a rasengan, but some people are barely affected.

If you think about it, Kabuto was directly hit by a rasengan and didn't die. But then again, he is a very skilled med ninja. Pain got owned, so did Kakuzu who took a rasenshuriken, that's harsh.

I enjoyed the Fuuton Naturo used against Kakuzu. Too bad it was prohibited by Tsunade after all. Jiraya-sama would probably find a form to adapt this jutsu so it doesn't fuck your flow of chakra up.
