As many of you know, the majority of new members join the forums, create a clan then leave as no one joins.
As a general rule, the active players are the ones that joined a clan and made friends there which caused them to stay.
I'm suggesting that users should only be able to create a clan if they have either: 50 posts or 24 hours online time. This would ensure numerous things, some of them being;
-- People actually know what the game is about and what will be in it before creating a clan
-- People wont just create a clan and leave, they'll either join a clan which will cause them to make friends or they'll wait before they make a clan and will have made lots of friends on their journey to the requirements who might join them.
At the end of the day, friendships are what keep most users on this forum. This suggestion would create more of them

I strongly agree with this.

Mars has made lots of useful posts.
This isn't his first one.

Don't give in to the bait.
Also on topic: I agree with your post Mars.
Nice job.

Very nice suggestion. But I think the time limit is too short, maybe 48h?

It's pretty hard not to xD

I thought the same thing at first but then thought about it, 24 solid hours of forum browsing sure is something, and I believe that's enough for a user to understand how the clan system works.
Useful post, Mars. I think this should become an official rule.

I love the idea, @Vreg what do you think?
-
@Mars I like the idea.......even though I don't meet the requirements its actually a great idea

You do meet the requirement though, you have 50+ posts.
It was 50+ posts or 24 hour logged on time
-
One problem then.
Wouldn't this cause postwhoring?

Right, 24 h are enough.
Missed the fact that there are 24 hours logged in time. Initially, I thought it's 24 h in real life.

We can do this, although it would have to be limited to your post count group. So for example I could set something up that would restrict creating new topics in the Clans and Organisation boards to people of Genin Poster (50+ posts) rank and higher.

Sounds good to me. Just means we'd need a different place/way to recruit instead of them posting on our clan bard. It may also encourage postwhoring but I guess staff can strict down on it

What we're limiting is creating topics, not posting replies.

Yeah, Genin poster is 50 posts so it sounds look a good solution.
